Carsie Blanton gifted us this song, and now we're gifting it to you.
lyrics
He got a frame like a busted bike
He got a face that nobody likes to see
Nobody but me
He got a thing or two to learn about love
He act like he ain't never heard of romance
So why'd I give him a chance?
My baby can dance
My baby can swing
And my baby can shake me slow
So I don't need no other thing
My baby can dance
My baby can sway
And my baby can hold me tight enough
To drive my cares away
Hey, my baby can
We go out to the joint downtown
I dress up and he dress down but it
It don't matter one bit
'Cause we got something better than class
Who needs love when love don't last too long?
And all we need is a song
And my baby can dance
My baby can groove
And my baby can shut me up
So I listen to the music and move
O-oh, my baby can dance
My baby can sway
And my baby can hold me tight enough
To drive my cares away
Hey-ey, my baby can
My baby can oo
Oh
Oo
Oh
Oo
Oh
My baby can oo
Oh
Oo
Oh
Oo
Oh
My baby can dance
My baby can swing
And my baby can shake me slow
So I don't need no other thing
Mm, my baby can dance
My baby can sway
And my baby can hold me tight enough
To drive my cares away
Hey-ey, my baby can
Dance

The laid-back groove of the Brooks Prumo Orchestra hits the sweet spot. This is fine swing without any try-hard hype. The studio mix is balanced, and it hops and slides like music should (unlike some other contemporary jazz). "Out of Nowhere" is outstanding: inspired arrangement, knockout playing, genuine emotion. The vocal numbers get better with every listen, and "Blue Lester" has about it a certain sunburn-on-your-skin mint julep nighttime ease. jakespatz

The entire album is full of great swing music, but the absolute star performance by Nicolle Rochelle on Gloomy Sunday is nothing short of phenomenal! Satch Radio
